GrainHenge is set to launch Red Deer’s first ever legal whisky on December 7, 2021. Born inside Troubled Monk’s craft brewery in Red Deer, Alberta, the inaugural release from this exclusive small-batch series is Meeting Creek Single Malt Whisky.

So, to celebrate his retirement, we brought Bob in and replicated his first beer ever. Fork In The Road is a beer by Bob, and it’s a beer for Bob.
We weren’t born yesterday. We’ve been around the block, and you know this isn’t our first rodeo. We know it’s not about how good your beer is, it’s about how good your last beer was, and then coping with the soul-crushing pressure of living up to those expectations. So when that big beer bucks you off, you’ve got to get back on!
You don’t actually have to know about beer to SOUND like you know about beer. Just grab an IPA and talk with buzzwords, like, “It’s not too hazy,” or, “Is this double dry hopped?” or, “Oh, it’s really juicy!” If that fails, just say you’re in “the industry” and use words like “synergy” and “analytics”. We don’t know. We’re not in the industry.
You know when you go to the fridge, but it’s all stuff you’ve had before? So you hit up the liquor store and you walk into that corner where they keep the craft stuff? You know when you see that dope label with a style you’ve never tried, so you take it home and now you have a new favourite brew? THAT beer hits different.
Here is a hot take – Made in the Shade gets spicy. Our Mango Peppers flavour is the perfect balance of hot and juicy. The mango sweetness rounds out the flavour to keep this beer approachable, but we’ve got just enough intensity that you’ll be looking for some shade.
It’s nighttime in a taproom just like ours. All is quiet, or is it? The Central Albertan House Hippo is found throughout Red Deer and surrounding Alberta cities. House Hippos build their nests in refrigerators using hops, malt, and yeast. The nests have to be comfortable and cool, since House Hippos taste best chilled.
Brave Noise is a global collaboration beer with a very brave purpose. Stepping up and speaking out for equity in the beer industry, Brave noise roars in the face of silence. It pushes breweries to take intentional action and hold each other accountable. No more pushing the issues under the rug. It’s a call to fight for safe places and inclusive environments.
We know you never back down. When a warning says “don’t try this at home” there’s a chance you’ve already done it. It’s honestly getting a bit out of hand, but we respect the dedication. This triple IPA is all about that dedication, so we made it in collaboration with Dog Island Brewing because it takes all the power we have to make a Triple Dog Dare for the person who never backs down.
Grab a pretzel and your lederhosen, because it’s Oktoberfest, Bruder! The event may be canceled, but the beer is still brewed for you to have a proper Bavarian celebration, wherever you take it. Schones Oktoberfest, jederman!
