Hops Don’t Lie IPA

I’m on tonight, you know my Hops Don’t Lie, and I’m starting to feel it’s right..

BEER NAME
ABV 6.0%
IBU 33.5
SRM 3.6

Tasting Notes

The beer pours a light golden colour with a small light gold head. The aroma is citrusy and sweet. Zesty citrus fruits intermingling with herbal notes and flavours of marmalade hit your tongue at first sip. The beer is light bodied with a delightfully pillowy mouthfeel. This drink ends smooth, reminiscent of an Earl Grey tea. It also finishes with a slightly grassy after taste.

Hops Don’t Lie IPA

Fun Fact: ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ was Shakira’s first #1 single in the US. It broke the record of most rotations on a radio station in the US.

I never really knew that she could dance like this…

It is no secret that we love to have a good time at Troubled Monk, so this punny name for the beer felt like a no-brainer. When we think of the 2005 smash hit, ‘Hips Don’t Lie’, we are filled with nostalgia and an overwhelming urge to dance like no one is watching. Kind of the same feeling you get when you sip on this new IPA! The flavours have a little citrus party in your mouth without the bitterness sometimes coming from hops. Instead, it has a smoothness and almost creamy-like feel making it super drinkable! Grab one of these fun and retro cans, and remember… #NOFIGHTING

Bringing freshness to a classic.

IPAs or India Pale Ales, usually get their predominant flavours from the hops. These flavours usually include herbal notes and citrus. They have potential to have bitterness depending on what and how the hops were used. For this brew in particular, we used Idaho 7 hops. These late-maturing hops are known for aromas and flavours that are tropical, herbaceous, and fruity. Most notably, pink grapefruit, sticky pine, and oranges.
