Tasting Notes

This brilliantly clear beer is pale yellow with a fine white foam. The aromas of orange citrus and berries from the New Zealand hops play with a nice straw character from the malt. The flavour is hop forward with lots of herbal and tropical fruit notes layered over a light malt base of corn flakes and cracker. The bitterness is balanced yet assertive and combines with the classic, clean lager “snap” to make this beer crisp and crushable.

Fun Fact: We name our anniversary beer each year after its  correlating anniversary gift. This year is bronze, next year’s will be willow or pottery!

Celebrating Our Crazy Eight!
On June 12th, 2023, Troubled Monk will celebrate its 8th anniversary by releasing a new Pilsner, Bronze. This would not have been possible without the support of our community and the hard work of the Troubled Monk team. Our journey to create craft beverages worth sharing is built on the heart, warmth, and stability of our shared vision, mission, and values.

What is a Pilsner?

What are the notes of a pilsner beer?
Expect clean malt notes reminiscent of bread, light toast and mild honey backed by an elegant hop aroma and flavor as well as a somewhat strong, clean bitterness stemming mainly from classic Saaz hop varieties. Citrusy, piney, earthy American hops are inappropriate for this style.
